Challenge:
Due to a change in strategy for the distribution of internet fiber optic products, the platforms and processes of an E2E wholesale partner of a municipal utilities provider had to:
1. Be transferred to a self-managed BSS system.
2. Be integrated with a new ISP service provider
3. Be put into operation directly with the partnered service provider/network operator.
Idea:
1. Evaluate the process chain to identify gaps and weak points in it
2. Determine the degree of digitization and automation today vs. needed along the process chain
3. Run a proof of concept for new platforms and processes through coordinated sales campaigns
4. Increase the competitiveness of products to grow sales
Objectives:
1. Acquiring new customers and providing services via new, largely self-managed infrastructure and own processes
2. Commissioning processes and platforms through the client's customer care and 1st level support partner
3. Ensuring proper telecommunications operation following the Telecommunications Act
Results:
1. After process definition, implementation, platform commissioning, and testing, the scalability of the client's telecommunications business was examined during a phased sales rollout.
2. Ad hoc optimizations and operational support during the phases mentioned above increased customer satisfaction and led to the success of the sales phase.
3. Measures to increase scalability were identified and documented for a follow-up project.
4. Creating a template-based security concept for telecommunications and the derivation/adaptation of processes from it ensured proper operation.
