Improving documentation systems through resource inventory management and automation

Challenge:
Poor data quality and manual entries, coupled with an inconsistent filing system for process documentation from internal and external network resources and service data, led to interruptions and errors in the planning process.

Idea:
A centralized repository providing a comprehensive view of all network resources and service data in the company. This could be achieved by combining distributed systems, functions, data, and documentation into a market-leading resource inventory system for the telecommunications industry.

Objective:
Easy access to a central system with up-to-date data for planning, analyzing, and managing all telecommunications-related technologies. Ensuring seamless data integration and the possibility for end-to-end process automation.

Results:
1. Analysed and structured the documentation of network resources
2. Consolidated all relevant functions from Resource Inventory Management into a central tool
3. Ensured data quality by cleansing and validating existing data
4. Created standardized interfaces for seamless access to relevant network information as a basis for automating order management processes
