Description

As a Software Tester (m/f/d), you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of software solutions in an agile development environment.


The role requires strong testing expertise combined with Java development know-how, as you will work with a Java-based test framework and need to understand and interpret source code as part of your daily testing activities.


You will contribute across the full testing lifecycle, covering functional and non-functional testing, automated testing, and the continuous improvement of test infrastructure.

Requirements


Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Software Tester in agile environments

  • Solid Java development know-how, with the ability to read and understand Java code

  • Strong experience with test automation and integration testing

  • Familiarity with structured testing approaches and test documentation

  • Experience working with custom or in-house test frameworks is a plus

Language Skills

  • English: Fluent

  • German: not mandatory, but a bonus

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with CI/CD-integrated testing

  • Knowledge of test management tools and defect tracking systems

  • Background in technical or system-level testing

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing activities in agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban)

  • Act as an integrated tester within cross-functional development teams

  • Conduct whitebox, greybox, and blackbox testing

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests, with a strong focus on test automation

  • Execute integration tests using the Java-based WELD test framework

  • Read, analyze, and understand Java source code to support test design and execution

  • Coordinate technically with responsible departments and other technical testers

  • Support and continuously improve the test infrastructure, including: Test environments; Test data management

  • Execute functional and non-functional tests

  • Document test cases, test results, and deviations in a structured and traceable manner
